Heritage Woods

Heritage Woods is an apartment complex of 50 units located at 9th Street and McClure Road.  It consists of 41 2-bedroom townhouses, 2 2-bedroom accessible apartments, and 7 1-bedroom accessible apartments.  Columbus Housing Authority’s main office is located in the Heritage Woods apartment complex.

Pence Place

Pence Place is an apartment complex of 40 3-bedroom units located at the end of Pence Avenue.  2 of these units are accessible.  Columbus Housing Authority’s maintenance office and Pence Place community room are located at 595 Pence Avenue in the apartment complex.  The community room is available for tenant use.

Sycamore Place

Sycamore Place is a 3-story building located at 222 Sycamore Street that consists of 24 1-bedroom accessible apartments.  Sycamore apartments are designated for the elderly or disabled only.  When there are insufficient elderly or disabled families on the waiting list who wish to reside in a designated disabled or elderly development, near-elderly families will receive a preference over other families.

Elderly family (as defined by HUD) – a family whose head, cohead, spouse, or sole member is a person who is at least 62 years of age; two or more persons who are at least 62 years of age living together; or one or more persons who are at least 62 years of age living with one or more live-in aides.

Disabled family (as defined by HUD) – a family whose head, cohead, spouse, or sole member is a person with disabilities; two or more persons with disabilities living together; or one or more persons with disabilities living with one or more live-in aides.

Near-elderly family (as defined by HUD) – a family whose head, cohead, spouse, or sole member is a person who is at least 50 years of age but below the age of 62; or two or more persons who are at least 50 years of age but below the age of 62 living together; or one or more persons who are at least 50 years of age but below the age of 62 living with one or more live-in aides.


Scattered Sites

Scattered Site units consists of 32 3-bedroom houses, 10 2-bedroom houses, and 1 4-bedroom house that are “scattered” throughout the City of Columbus.

School districts vary for each scattered site. All Public Housing tenants have access to 24/7 emergency maintenance service.
